  • last week was a memorable one!

i don't really know how or why it happened, but last week i listened to the most music ever recorded on my last.fm, helping to push me over the 6000-play mark! Unique Artists: 187 Total Tracks: 363 Total Plays: 435 40 plays for The Beatles...as much as i listen to music, that was definitely record-breaking. it also pushed the beatles up to my number 3 most-played artist, which is where they belong :D this is all thanks to me getting sgt. pepper's... and rubber soul for christmas. amazing stuff, both of them, especially rubber soul... In My Life, Drive My Car, and Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da (which i know isn't on either album, it's just a random of theirs that i have) helped to push me over the edge. i'm becoming more than just a casual beatles fan, and that's the way i like it! The Killers are in second with 16 plays. 5 of those are from possibly one of my favorite songs i've ever heard, Read My Mind...i've known it since october when i listened to sam's town with a friend, but for some reason, lately, i absolutely cannot get enough of it! simply gorgeous. the rest of the plays i would assume are from hot fuss, which is an interesting story for me...i first heard hot fuss in the summer/fall of 2004, and aside from Mr. Brightside, i LOATHED it. i decided that it was overly commercial crap that all sounded the same, and i threw it into my cd cabinet in disgust. but over this past winter break, i grew curious and pulled the album out for another listen. needless to say, i was appalled that i had ever NOT liked it...what a kickass album! (minus a few songs, but hey, you can't win them all.) goes to show how my musical horizons have broadened since i was 15, haha. so that's where i've been getting so many plays from, and now the killers are definitely becoming one of my favorite bands. the rest of the bands are standard fare for me, just in larger quantities...i listened through Zeromancer's zzyzx album, which i emailed to my best friend over the week (he too is obsessed, making at least 3 people which i have converted to zeromancer fans!)... Secret Machines will forever be amazing (god i need their first cd)...pink floyd, yellowcard, liquid tension experiment...standard fare. all amazing. i love music! p.s. my third most-played track of the week is none other than Spice Up Your Life. you know it's your guilty pleasure too. even i know it's your guilty pleasure. admit it...
